  • Gender (Male/Female): Male are more prone to have hypertension. But after 60 both males or females are prone to have hypertension.
  • Physical inactivity: If you are not physical activity then you are more prone to have high BP. People who do not work or neither do exercise nor work sitting at one place are more prone to have high BP.
  • Smoking: Smoking is injurious for health also the cause of lung cancer. Smoking shrinks the blood vessels and blood pressure increases due to the heart has to pump more. The amount of oxygenated blood which is required fails and the blood pressure increases.
  • Alcohol: It has been noticed that an alcoholic person’s BP is higher by 7mmHg than to non-alcoholic people.
